AllMyStuff ("we", "us") is a home inventory service at allmystuff.us and app.allmystuff.us. Your inventory is personal, so this page explains in plain language what we collect, why, and who else touches it. If anything here is unclear, email allmystuff-support@compedgesolutions.us.

What you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash, never in readable form.
  • Your inventory: everything you enter about your things, such as names, descriptions, values, locations, containers, categories, tags, links, serial numbers, document numbers, expiration dates, and heirloom notes.
  • Photos and files: item photos, attachments, and an optional profile picture you upload.
  • Friends and loans: the people you connect with, and the borrower names, email addresses, dates, and notes you record when you lend something out.

What is collected automatically

  • Cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and, if you choose "remember me", a sign-in cookie that lasts up to 30 days. These are required for the service to work.
  • On your device: the app stores small preferences (such as whether the sidebar is collapsed) in your browser, and the installable app caches its own files so it can open without a connection.
  • Server logs: like most websites, our server records IP addresses, browser type, and the pages requested. We use these to keep the service secure, to limit repeated sign-in attempts, and to fix problems.
  • Analytics: our pages load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, which use cookies to tell us how many people visit and which pages they use. Google's handling of that data is described in Google's own privacy policy. You can block these with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker without affecting how AllMyStuff works.

How we use it

We use your information to run AllMyStuff: storing and showing your inventory, searching it, building the reports you ask for, sharing items you choose to share, and sending the emails the service needs, such as password resets and loan notifications. We do not sell your information, and we do not use the contents of your inventory for advertising.

Services that help us run AllMyStuff

Some features rely on outside providers. Each receives only what that feature needs:

  • Hosting: your account, inventory, photos, and files are stored on servers we rent from DigitalOcean in the United States.
  • AI photo identification (Anthropic): only when you use the identify or describe features, the photo or text you submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude service to suggest a name, description, category, and tags. Nothing is sent unless you use the feature, and you confirm suggestions before anything is saved.
  • Barcode lookup (UPCitemdb): when you scan a barcode, only the barcode number is sent to look up the product name.
  • Email delivery: notification and password reset emails are sent through our email provider, which sees the recipient address and message.
  • Analytics (Google): as described above.

If paid plans take online payment in the future, payments will be handled by a payment processor, and we will not store your card number.

Sharing with friends and family

Every item is private unless you choose otherwise. Items you mark as shared with friends or family are visible only to people you have accepted as that kind of connection. Serial numbers and heirloom notes are never shown to anyone else.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.

Keeping your information

We keep your information for as long as your account is open. When you delete an item, it disappears from your inventory right away and its photos and attachments are removed from storage. You can export your inventory as a CSV file at any time.

To close your account and delete your data, email allmystuff-support@compedgesolutions.us from the address on your account. Copies in routine backups are overwritten over time.

Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access to your inventory requires your sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.

Children

AllMyStuff is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will let you know by email or in the app.
